“Lojzek's Dream” is a butoh dance performance created as a tribute to the author's grandfather, as well as to all the departures of loved ones in recent years. The performance is part of the trilogy “Lojzek's Triptych.”
If you find yourself alone on a white bed, your whole life flashes before your eyes. Everything you should have done, could have done, and everything you did. Your only two companions, Narcosis and Pain, whisper memories to you, trying to lure you to their side. You hear and see hills, vineyards, lakes, hay, cakes, hams, dusks, dogs, children... Naively, you step out of the bed, but this hallway doesn’t lead where you thought it would. Your body curls up and creaks, your head becomes a spine, and your hand claims your chest as you stumble through the darkness. Now that there’s no way back, Narcosis and Pain offer you a safe path into sleep. Surrendering your corporeality to them, you bear witness to your own disintegration as, like a stunted child, you thrash toward infinity.
